How invoices get their accounts
Your company takes posting accounts either from default account settings or from posting groups. Check which one, then set it up.
When you save an invoice, WbizManager needs to know which accounts to post to: the receivables account, the sales revenue account and, for stock, the inventory and cost of goods sold accounts. It takes them from one of two places. Your company uses one or the other.
Check which one your company uses
Go to Settings › Posting Settings › Posting Groups Switch-over. At the top it says where documents saved now take their accounts from:
- Account settings: one set of default accounts for everything. Follow Set up default accounts.
- Posting groups: accounts chosen per customer and per product. Follow Set up posting groups.
Default accounts or posting groups?
| Default accounts | Posting groups | |
|---|---|---|
| How accounts are chosen | The same accounts for every invoice | By the customer's posting group and each item's product posting group |
| Best for | Small setups with one revenue line | Companies that report revenue or receivables by customer type or product type |
| Where you set it | Settings › Default Account | Settings › Posting Settings |
