An individual goal is what one person will deliver towards their department's goal, for example "Close the books by day 5 each month". HR or a line manager with the goals permission sets it.

Steps

  1. Start an individual goal

In the menu on the left, select HR, then Performance, then Goals & KPIs. Select Create Goal, then Individual Goal.

Fill in Basic Information: Goal Code (for example "IND-EMP-001"), Status, Title and Description, then the Start Date and End Date. All are required.

  2. Choose the employee and the department goal, then the target

    1. Employee: who the goal is for. Required.
    2. Link to Department Goal: the department goal this supports. Required. If the list is empty, create the department goal first.
    3. Target Value (more than 0) and Weight (%) (1 to 100), then the Unit of Measure below.

Select Create Goal at the bottom of the form.

  3. Track it

Open the goal from the list. Use Edit Goal to change its status and current value, add key results, and select Update progress on each key result as work is done. Goal Alignment shows the chain from the company goal down to this one.

What employees and managers see

Individual goals are kept on the Goals & KPIs screens, not on the appraisal form. Agree them with the employee and their line manager at the start of the cycle, and discuss progress in the review meeting. See Hold a review meeting.
