Check appraisal eligibility
Before you assign appraisals, check whether an employee, or a whole department, is due for a probation-confirmation or regular appraisal.
Before you start
- Set up employees and supervisorsThe check reads each employee's primary job (department, join date and confirmation date).
- Set up appraisal cyclesYou check eligibility against the date the cycle starts.
In this article
The Eligibility Check tells you who is due for an appraisal on a given date, and which kind. Use it before you assign the template, so you don't appraise someone too early or twice in a short time. It is a check only: assigning a template doesn't run it, so it's up to you to act on the result.
Steps
Open HR › Performance › Eligibility Check
In the menu on the left, select HR, then Performance, then Eligibility Check.
- Single employee checks one person; Bulk by department checks everyone in a department (or all departments).
- Employee: the person to check.
- Cycle date: the date the appraisal would start. Use the cycle's start date.
- Check eligibility (or Check department in bulk mode) shows the result.
Read the result

What employees and managers see
Nothing: the check is for HR only. Employees see an appraisal only when you assign one. See Launch an appraisal cycle.
