How the figures are worked out

Asset Report

ColumnHow it's worked out
Which assetsEvery asset bought or put in service on or before the end date and still held then. An asset disposed of by the end date moves to the Disposal Report.
CostThe asset's cost.
Accum. Dep. B/FDepreciation posted for the asset before the start date. Reversals cancel their originals.
Dep. for YearDepreciation posted from the start date to the end date (the range you chose, not necessarily a year).
Accum. Dep. C/FBrought forward + the period's depreciation.
Net Book ValueCost less accumulated depreciation carried forward.

Disposal Report: posted disposals with a disposal date in the range (drafts are left out). Accum. Dep. is the depreciation the asset had on its disposal date, Net Book Value is cost less that, and Profit / Loss is the price less the net book value: positive is a gain, negative a loss. These are the figures the disposal posted.

Depreciation Schedule: months up to the current month come from the ledger; later months are projected from each asset's monthly charge. Nothing is posted by this report.
